Looking Back at Learning Lab 7: From Theory to Action in the Local Energy Transition

On February 11, researchers and industry partners gathered at the Urban Energy Institute at TU Delft for the seventh Just Prepare Learning Lab. Led by chairperson Sietske Veenman, the session focused on the question of how we can shape the local energy transition in a way that is both effective and equitable. Following introductions by Professor Henk Visscher and researcher Thaleia Konstantinou, the approximately 35 attendees actively engaged with the interim research findings.
Diverse profiles and solutions for home renovations

On Tuesday, March 3, Iris Loche, a postdoc at Just Prepare at Eindhoven University of Technology, presented the results of her research on energy sufficiency in residential renovations to a multidisciplinary audience of researchers. The researchers gathered to discuss the theme “Energy Transition in the Built Environment,” which is coordinated by Roel Loonen and Lenneke Kuijer as part of the Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems (EIRES).

From home to neighbourhood: residents share solutions for comfort and sustainability in Nijmegen and Rotterdam

Op 12 en 14 november organiseerden Piet de Koning en Simone van Wieringen twee bewonersworkshops in Nijmegen Dukenburg en Bospolder Tussendijken in Rotterdam. Het uitgangspunt was dat bewoners hun huis en buurt vaak ontzettend goed kennen: we waren daarom nieuwsgierig naar wat voor hen werkt,, welke vragen spelen en welke oplossingen zij in de loop der tijd voor zichzelf hebben gevonden. In deze workshops, waarin ook enkele lokale professionals deelnamen, leerden we vooral van elkaar als bewoners en buren.

Energy justice in practice: Working together for an inclusive transition How can we ensure that everyone is able to participate in the energy transition? And what and who is needed to achieve this? These questions surrounding ‘energy justice in practice’ were the focus of the fifth learning lab of the Just Prepare project in Amsterdam on February 4th.
